Section J Reports

Energy efficiency requirements for Class 3, 5, 6, 7, 8 or 9 buildings (commercial) is defined in Section J of Volume One of Building Code of Australia (BCA) developed by National Construction Code (NCC).

A report describing compliance with Section J is mandatory to issue a construction certificate for Buildings in Australia.

BASIX Certificates

​The Building Sustainability Index (BASIX) is an initiative by the NSW Government that requires all new dwellings to be designed and built to achieve a reduction in water consumption and greenhouse gas emissions compared to typical dwellings.

BASIX is one of the strongest sustainable planning measures to be undertaken in NSW, Australia. BASIX certificate specifies aspects such as levels of wall insulation and window shading requirements.

A BASIX compliance certificate is required to be lodged for all residential buildings in NSW.
